The Philodendron family may have no shortage of varieties with bright, chartreuse foliage, but the mature Melinonii is an attractive standout! Its elongated leaves are defined by their golden green hue and contrasting petioles. Native to Northern Brazil, Venezuela, Suriname and French Guiana, the Golden Melinonii is actually a dominant species in its natural habitat. As a houseplant, however, it can be relatively hard to come by.
Given the right growing conditions, you can expect growth of up to three feet tall!
Light: Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal for your Philodendron. They enjoy a good deal of ambient sun, but do not favor direct light. Direct, bright sun will cause sunburn, fading, and wilting of its leaves and stems.
Water: These plants prefer for their soil to stay slightly moist, but never soggy. Plant in a well-draining potting mix and allow the soil to dry at least halfway down in the pot between waterings to avoid oversaturation.
Humidity: Moderate humidity is best for Philodendron growth. We suggest adding a humidifier to your plant care routine if the air in your space is dry.
Poisonous to pets if ingested.
