Named for its gorgeous, cascading blooms, the Acalypha hispida aka "Chenille Plant" is a striking conversation starter for your home. Grown indoors year-round and outdoors as an annual, this plant produces other-worldly flowers when grown in a warm, bright environment. To keep your chenille plant looking full, we recommend regular pruning of foliage and spent flowers during the growing season. Removing old flowers encourages the growth of more blooms.
Light: Bright to bright, indirect light.
Water: Chenille plants enjoy consistently moist (but not soggy) soil. Water when top 1 inch to 2 inches feels dry. Avoid allowing Acalypha hispida to dry out completely.
Humidity: Because this plant is native to the tropics of southeast Asia, it thrives in a humid environment. If grown indoors, you may consider supplementing ambient humidity with a humidifier if it is in a particularly dry area.
