Wheel thrown stoneware planter by Little Bear Pottery with painterly black triangular shadows of black stone glaze running down one side atop a white stone base glaze. The uneven textures and organic lines that are at the forefront of each pot's design are an homage to the abstract expressionist paintings of artist Franz Kline. Each planter is meticulously hand-formed by owner Lindsey Schneider with design and function at the forefront of construction.
Includes a drainage hole and tiny tray.
• 6": 6" wide x 6" tall
• 8": 8" wide x 8" tall
Handcrafted in small batches. Natural variations should be expected. Each planter is unique.
ABOUT THE MAKER
LBP Clay, previously known as Little Bear Pottery, is the creative home objects line of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Lindsey Schneider. Schneider's works embrace "monochromatic looks, simple geometries, and stark shadows", and her recent work is a testament to her devotion to allowing each hand-constructed piece to take its unique shape and form. Because there is such an unpredictability to making ceramics, Schneider says she loves the natural variations that come from a process that she views as both chemistry and magic. We are currently offering several styles that encapsulate Schneider's token play on pattern, texture, and shape.
