Monstera Dubia, often referred to as the “shingle plant”, is a unique and incredibly rare Monstera variety. Characterized by its intricate variegation and distinctive growth pattern, this Central and South American native gets its nickname from its habit of climbing trees, large plants, and rock faces, attaching flat to their surface like shingles.
This cute creeper has been known to reach heights of up to ten feet tall in nature, and when allowed to mature will eventually develop fenestrations. In the home, however, you can expect your to maintain its heart-shaped leaves and grow to around three feet tall.
Light: Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal for this Monstera. Brighter sun will result in more prolific leaf growth, but avoid hot, direct sun as too much sun exposure can result in leaf discoloration.
Water: Allow the soil to dry at least two to three inches down in the container between waterings. You want to keep the soil slightly moist, but never soggy, and avoid any prospect of overwatering. Plant in well-draining, chunky soil to maintain proper aeration.
Humidity: Moderate to humidity is best for Monstera Dubia growth. We suggest adding a humidifier to your plant care routine if the air in your space is dry.
If ingested, poisonous to people and pets.
