The very popular Ficus Decora Burgundy has thick, glossy leaves that range from a rich burgundy red to almost black. Since it is a tropical plant, never expose it to any cold temperatures. Your Rubber Tree will appreciate misting to increase humidity, especially when it gets very warm in the summer. Misting regularly also helps to keep insects from making themselves at home on the leaves.
Light: Your Burgundy Rubber Tree will grow best with consistent, bright, filtered light—which produces the dark, burgundy color of the leaves.
Water: The worst thing you can do to your Rubber Tree is to over water it. Water when the top 50%-75% of soil becomes dry, then thoroughly drench until the water drains into the saucer.
If ingested, poisonous to people and pets.
