Terrariums: Make Your Own at Home
The first recorded terrariums date back to the Victorian Era-- when they were used to transport exotic plants on sea voyages and displayed in the homes of the affluent as a symbol of status and botanical knowledge. Nowadays terrariums are more accessible and are found in many different shapes, sizes, etc. If there's one thing that unites the appeal of terrariums then and now-- it's that they bring the beauty of the outdoors into your space.
Here's what you'll need to make your own...
1. A clear glass or plastic container
2. Terrarium-friendly plant(s)
3. Potting medium (soil, sphagnum moss, pebbles, etc.)
4. Activated charcoal
5. Terrarium tools (mini shovel, long tweezers, etc.)
6. Optional: decorative elements (ie: gems)
