Crimson Horticultural Rarities is an indoor plant boutique with a focus on rare and unusual horticultural specimen, handmade pottery, and a variety of botanically-inspired goods for the body and home.
Crimson is thoughtfully designed to create a beautiful and intimate setting for you to explore and learn about plant life. We handpick our plants at the nursery to ensure they’re ready to thrive in your space for lasting interior plant design.
Our pottery, apothecary and decor items are carefully selected with craft and sustainability in mind. We work one-on-one with a variety of artisans to curate our unique collection of handmade goods.

Our shop is located right on Piedmont Avenue, one of Oakland’s most populated shopping neighborhoods!
After spending 12 years in the Temescal Alley, we made the decision to merge our shops into one location. We closed the Temescal Alley location in January of 2023. While we will always hold a space in our hearts for the tiny shop we started in, we are delighted to spread our wings in our beautiful Piedmont Ave Location. We remain committed to the continued support of small and local artists, our larger space has given us the opportunity to expand our inventory to include a broader range of large plant specimens.

Floral Design
Led by owner Allison Futeral and eleven years of experience in floral design, Crimson's floral program is driven by our love of gardening and our passion for creating beautiful things and spaces.
With a curious approach to texture and color, we incorporate living specimens and dried botanicals to represent the landscape of the natural world.
Crimson is happy to offer floral design services for weddings of all sizes, from large-scale events to private elopements. We delight in helping our clients bring their unique visions to life.
Botanical Design
Our botanical design services are a further reflection of our ability to design and create beautiful spaces. We work directly with our design clients and interior design partners to create sensible spaces reflective of the natural world.

During the design process, we like to have open communication about all design applications. Our Plant Care Specialists will work with you to build and develop a customized plan to ensure that all of the requirements are being effectively met.
