Commonly referred to as a “Lace Fern” for its elegant, intertwining plumes, the Asparagus “Plumosa” Fern is truly a unique specimen. Though commonly referred to as a fern, this plant is – in fact – not a fern at all, but an ornate member of the Asparagus Family. While delicate and in whimsical appearance, the Asparagus Fern is quite a hardy little plant, boasting sneaky thorns as the stems mature.
Display either in a hanging basket and allow to cascade, or as a bushy tabletop eye-catcher!
Light: This specimen can tolerate a variety of lighting settings, but should be kept out of direct light. A bright, indirect spot a few feet from a bright window is best. Be careful not to place in hot, direct sun to avoid scorching its fronds.
Water: Keep soil slightly moist, but never soggy. Water when the surface of the soil dries 1”-2” down in the pot.
Poisonous to pets if ingested!
