Endemic to tropical regions of South America, South Africa, and Southeast Asia, this exclusive fern species belongs to its own genus and family. It is known as the Mahogany fern because of its initial woody brown color during its early growth stage, before developing into a mature woody green. This fern can reach a maximum size of 3x3 feet when fully grown. Its simplicity in growth has earned it the nickname "a fuss-free Maidenhair." Highly tolerant of light compared to other ferns, the Mahogany fern makes an ideal gift for novice indoor gardeners.
Light: A bright, indirect spot a few feet from a bright window is best for this fern variety, though it will tolerate medium to low light. Be careful not to place in hot, direct sun to avoid scorching its fronds.
Water: Ferns love water, but like most plants, do not like to sit in soggy soil. Water your fern one the surface of soil feels slightly dry to the touch, and make sure you give it a pot with a drainage hole.
Humidity: Ferns also thrive in a humid environment, and will appreciate it if you add a humidifier to your plant care routine.

Ferns are delicate and can be damaged during shipping. Browning or wilted fronds are natural - simply clip off with sanitized clippers.
