The Raphidophora Decursiva, or “Dragon Tail Plant” is an incredibly hard-to-find climber, characterized by the broad and highly pinnate foliage of the mature specimen. This hemiepiphyte maintains a more upright growth pattern, in contrast to its more vining relative, the Tetrasperma, allowing its showy foliage to take center stage. We love them because they are an incredibly fast-growing plant and so satisfying to watch as their leaves begin to split.

Light: These plants do best in bright, filtered sun. You will notice your plant growing fuller and larger leaves in brighter light, but take care not to scorch their leaves with hot, direct sunlight.

Water: While your Raphidophora can do very well in drier soil, you will notice more consistent growth if you keep the soil evenly moist, but never soggy. It is best to wait to water until the soil dries a quarter to halfway down in their pot. Avoid allowing water to pool at the bottom of the plant to keep your roots happy.

Humidity: We recommend adding a humidifier to your plant care routine to help provide humidity if your space is dry.

If ingested, poisonous to people and pets.
