Aralia - Elegantissima "False Aralia"

False Aralia is an elegant indoor tree grown for its attractive, serrated leaflets. Hailing from New Caledonia, a South Pacific island, these bushy beauties are favored for their textural and feathery growth pattern that gives them the appearance of miniature trees. This plant is perfect for a warm, humid room that receives several hours of natural sun.

While popular as a houseplant, the Aralia Elegantissima is sadly nearing extinction in its native habitat. It is currently on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s red list.

Light: Aralia thrive in bright, warm spot, though hot direct light should be avoided. Brighter sun will contribute to a deepening of the foliage’s dark hues. Make sure that this Aralia is not placed in a drafty space or a room with dramatic temperature changes, as this can cause defoliation. 

Water: This plant prefers soil that stays evenly moist, but never soggy. Water only when the soil is dry at least 3” to halfway down in the container, and plant in a well draining potting soil.

Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is essential for this Aralia to thrive. We recommend running a humidifier if your space is especially dry.

Poisonous to pets if ingested.
