Neem oil is a naturally occurring pesticide that comes from the pressed fruit and seeds of the Neem tree, which is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent. Often used in organic farming, Neem has a garlic/sulfur smell and bitter taste that repels a wide variety of common pests, including mealy bugs, aphids, thrips, white flies, and spider mites, just to name a few.
We love Neem oil as an alternative to harsh and toxic chemical pesticides that are bad for you, your pets, and the environment. Neem oil is not harmful to pollinators or other beneficial insects, and is considered non-toxic to pets, however we recommend avoiding direct contact as it can be irritating.
To use, simply spray the infected plant and use a paper towel or soft rag to coat the leaves and stems. Make sure all the little crevices where pests can hide are saturated. Reapply every few days until all signs of infestation have subsided.
