Epiphyllum oxypetalum is a striking variety of tropical cactus. Their massive, 7 inch flowers bloom at night, earning them the nickname "Queen of the Night". In the wild, from Mexico to Nicaragua, E. oxypetalum grows epiphytically on trees.
Light: Direct light to bright indirect light.
Water: Unlike its desert dwelling relatives, E. oxypetalum is a tropical species and therefore prefers more water than the average cactus. Water when the top half of the soil dries out, and reduce watering in half in the winter to encourage spring blooms.
If ingested, poisonous to pets.
