The Begonia “Black Magic” is a moody, rhizomatic grower that is a sure standout against the backdrop of your leafy green tropicals. Its dark lobed foliage can at times appear holographic next to its reddish stems and the pink flowers it sprouts in Spring.
Maintain this begonia’s bushiness and prevent from getting leggy by pinching back often, but be sure to save those stems for propagation to share this hard-to-find begonia buddy with your friends.
Light: Provide your Begonia with bright, indirect light for optimal growth. Avoid placing in direct sunlight to prevent leaf discoloration and sunburn. Paling of the leaves can be an indication of too much direct sun, while yellowing and leaf shedding is a good indication that your Begonia is in need of more bright, filtered sun.
Water: Begonias prefer to remain consistently moist, but never wet or soggy. Water when soil is dry at least halfway down in the pot. When thirsty, the plant will pale in color and go limp at the stems, but rest assured - a good drink will quickly pop her back upright.
Humidity: Moderate Humidity is best. We recommend adding a humidifier to your plant care routine to help provide humidity if your space is dry. While Begonias require some humidity to thrive, make sure to avoid keeping their leaves constantly wet.
