Also known as the Santa Rita Prickly Pear Cactus, the Opuntia Macrocentra showcases a beautiful rich purple pad with spines. A unique addition to your cactus garden, these are able to be moved outside as they grow larger.

Light: Bright direct light is best for these, at least five hours of the direct sun is ideal. If grown indoors, place by a bright window. It can be grown outdoors in frost-free climates and a hardiness zone of 9a to 11b.

Water: Make sure your plant is in a very well draining soil. Allow your plant to dry out completely in between watering. These do best with under-watering rather than over-watering. Gently squeeze the pad of the cactus, if it feels soft, not firm, then it is time for a water. Water thoroughly and allow to drain completely out.
