The iconic Pachira Aquatica “Money Tree” is commonly known for its ornamental, braided form, which became popular in 1980s Japan and much of East Asia. The braided Pachyrica is symbolically associated with good financial fortune, making it a popular choice for gifting, especially when adorned with red ribbons or ornaments. However, this easy-care, pet friendly indoor tree is a great option for those looking for a statement piece that is fun and easy to cultivate and can adapt to various styles of pruning.
Light: Pachira prefer bright indirect light. This plant will not do well in low light conditions. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to prevent dust accumulation and help your plant photosynthesize efficiently.
Water: This plant does not like to sit in soggy soil, and over-watering is one of the most common reasons for leaf loss and yellowing. Water only when the plant is dry at least halfway down in its container.
Humidity: Moderate humidity is best for this variety. We recommend running a humidifier if your space is especially dry.
