The Japanese Holly Fern is a hardy and handsome fern, making an excellent low-maintenance house plant. This large fern reaches mature heights of 2 feet tall, and 3 feet wide. Although it doesn't tolerate extreme cold, holly fern survives moderately harsh winters with no problem. Holly fern can be grown outside in USDA plant zones 6-10.
Light: This fern thrives in low light, so it's ideal for shady areas or darker corners of the house. Be careful not to place in hot, direct sun to avoid scorching its fronds.
Water: Ferns love water, but like most plants, do not like to sit in soggy soil. Water your fern once the surface of the soil feels slightly dry to the touch, and make sure you give it a pot with a drainage hole.
Humidity: Ferns also thrive in a humid environment, and will appreciate it if you add a humidifier to your plant care routine.

Ferns are delicate and can be damaged during shipping. Browning or wilted fronds are natural - simply clip off with sanitized clippers.
