Ficus Triangularis are cute as a button, down to their pet name, the “Sweetheart Tree.” Named for their waxy, triangle-shaped leaves, this close relative to Ficus Benjamina and Ficus Lyrata can grow to nearly 100 feet tall (!) in its native South African habitat. When cared for indoors, this whimsical shrub makes a beautiful, slender tree that is relatively easy to care for if provided with adequate sun.
Light: Ficus prefer bright indirect light. This plant will not do well in low light conditions. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to prevent dust accumulation and help your plant photosynthesize efficiently. Ficus should not be placed in a drafty space or conditions with dramatic temperature changes in order to prevent defoliation.
Water: This plant does not like to sit in soggy soil, and over-watering is one of the most common reasons for leaf loss and yellowing. Water only when the plant is dry at least halfway down in its container.
Humidity: Moderate humidity is best for this Ficus variety. We recommend running a humidifier if your space is especially dry.
Poisonous to pets if ingested.
Photographs are representative of the species and not always the specific plant shipped. Normal variations in size, pruning and leaf structure may occur.
