Ficus benghalensis “Audrey” is close kin to the ever-popular “Fiddle Leaf Fig”, but couldn’t be more different in appearance! This fuzzy-leaved sun lover, commonly referred to as the Banyan Tree, is most noted as the national tree of India. In its native Indian and Pakistani environment, the Audrey can grow up to 100 feet tall and an acre wide. In the home, however, you can expect moderate growth, though if cared for correctly you might just end up with an indoor tree!
Light: Ficus prefer bright indirect light. This plant will not do well in low light conditions. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to prevent dust accumulation and help your plant photosynthesize efficiently. Ficus should not be placed in a drafty space or conditions with dramatic temperature changes in order to prevent defoliation.
Water: This plant does not like to sit in soggy soil, and over-watering is one of the most common reasons for leaf loss and yellowing. Water only when the plant is dry at least halfway down in its container.
Humidity: Moderate humidity is best for this Ficus variety. We recommend running a humidifier if your space is especially dry.
Poisonous to pets if ingested.
