Ficus microcarpa “Ginseng”, known also as the Banyan Fig, Taiwan Ficus, or Laurel Fig, is an especially quirky member of the Ficus family. The bulbous, woody stem of this miniature tree naturally displays unique growth patterns that can easily be manipulated through sculpting and pruning. This easy-going Ficus variety makes a great conversation piece and could easily be confused for a sculpture.

Light: Ficus prefer bright indirect light. This plant will not do well in low light conditions. Wipe the leaves occasionally with a damp cloth to prevent dust accumulation and help your plant photosynthesize efficiently. Ficus should not be placed in a drafty space or conditions with dramatic temperature changes in order to prevent defoliation.

Water: This plant does not like to sit in soggy soil, and over-watering is one of the most common reasons for leaf loss and yellowing. Water only when the plant is dry at least halfway down in its container.

Humidity: Moderate humidity is best for this Ficus variety. We recommend running a humidifier if your space is especially dry.

Poisonous to pets if ingested.
