Pilea Cadierei Minima is commonly referred to as the “Aluminum Plant”, owing to its silvery metallic accents. This herbaceous perennial is a secret member of the nettle family, and adopts a whimsical, bushy growth pattern as it matures. Native to China and Vietnam, the Aluminum Plant favors a temperate climate and plenty of filtered bright sun.
Light: Pilea thrive in bright, indirect light, though you should avoid placing it in direct sunlight to prevent leaf discoloration and sunburn. Paling and drooping of the leaves can be an indication of too much direct sun.
Water: Allow the soil to dry at least one to two inches down between waterings. Yellowing of the leaves and stems is a good indicator to pull back on your watering schedule, while wilting at the stems is a sign that you should give your Pilea a drink.
Humidity: Moderate humidity is best for this variety. We suggest running a humidifier if the air in your space is dry.
