Air plants, also known as Tillandsia, are members of the Bromeliad family and belong to the group of epiphytes. They are unique in that they do not need soil to grow, thriving instead by absorbing moisture and nutrients through their leaves. Their roots serve only to support and anchor them to other plants or objects.
Light: Bright, indirect light, with no direct light on the leaves.
Water: Every one to two weeks, soak your air plant in room temperature for 5-10 minutes. After soaking gently shake excess water from your plant. Turn it upside down and place it on a towel in a bright space. Make sure that water does not get stuck in the center part of the plant after watering, as it can cause rot.
